Angry and Proud Youth can alone save this country

Recently, a lorry driver who travels all over India, driving the vehicle, made an apt remark that one of the common things that he observed throughout India is the corrupt and greedy nature of the individuals, irrespective of the caste and community to which they belong or whatever language that one speaks.

The veteran lorry driver say that the language of corruption is so well understood that he could "manage" policemen and government officials in several parts of country by extending the hand of corruption even though he could not speak the local language. As far as corruption issues are concerned, language does not seem to be a barrier at all in this country.

The lorry driver further said that he has no hope for this country in near future, as anything can be bought and any situation can be managed with money power in India.

Such view of the widely travelled person must be viewed with seriousness, as it is a fact of life in this country. In such circumstances, who could save India?

The revolutions in the world have been inevitably launched only with the support of youth power. Even Indian freedom movement was largely conducted by the youth in the country who were guided by a few role models. In any society, where the youth lacks passion and remains preoccupied with chasing money and power, such society is bound to remain lifeless and directionless.

Youth has the energy as well as spirit to wage battles. The best hope for the country is to appeal to the youth and sensitise them about the problem of society and inculcate the sense of pride in their mind.

If channeled in the right direction and advocated with proper dose of advice and guidance, youth can turn this society into a vibrant and forward looking class of people. Unfortunately, youth of today do not have the advantage of role models that the youth in the pre independent days had, like Mahatma Gandhi, Jawaharlal Nehru and others.

Still, the prescription is clear that the youth in the country has to be provoked and they must be sensitised so as to become angry at the state of affairs and develop some sort of pride about the historical traditions of this country and long term future of the society.

The youth with high qualification and knowledge level but who would run to developed countries at the earliest opportunity to earn more and to live comfortably cannot sustain this society. We need "Swadeshi youth", who will stay on the soil to fight upto the end, to restore the national glory. Organising the youth into such nation building movement is the task of the day.
