Providing free computer education to the boys and girls belonging to lower income group through Nandini Computer Schools located at different centres in Tamil Nadu.

Encouraging disabled to acquire skill and help them market their products.

Helping those in distress by providing fund support to the extent of the organisation's capability.


Nandini Voice for the Deprived runs a monthly journal, where the requirements of help and support by the underpriveleged sections of the society are regularly published. The journal also highlights the contribution of Non Governmental Voluntary bodies and publishes investigative articles and interviews on the problems of the poor and the deprived.

Thoughts of great national thinkers such as Swami Vivekananda, Mahatma Gandhi, Rajaji, Ramana Maharishi are regularly published.

This journal would make compulsive reading for responsible citizens of the world, who are conscious of their duties towards their less fortunate brothers and sisters.

Nandini Computer School is a dedicated school for the boys and girls from lower income group, presently functioning at the following centres in TamilNadu:
  • Perungudi, Chennai
  • Thiruvottiyur, Chennai
  • Ambattur, Chennai
  • Perambalur, Tamil Nadu
  • Dindugal, Tamil Nadu
  • Nagercoil, Tamil Nadu

Nandini Computer School provides free computer education to the boys and girls of lower income group. The applicants should have passed plus 2 examination (12 classes at school level).

Training is provided in MS-DOS, Wordstar, Windows, MS-Office, dBase, Foxbase, DTP and accounting package. The students are equipped to take up jobs as Data Entry Operators. Duration of the training for each student is around 200 hours, depending on the background of the students.

Placement services are also provided to the successful students.

Number of students who have successfully completed the course in Nandini Computer School exceed 800 in the last three years and most of them have already been placed in jobs.

Since the Government agencies and even the society has, by and large failed to protect the interests of the disabled, Nandini Voice for the Deprived encourages the disabled persons to acquire skill and emerge as self employed persons.

Nandini Voice for the Deprived conducts exhibition sale of products made by the disabled persons. During the year 2002, five exhibitions were conducted. During 2003, seven exhibitions would be conducted.

Nandini Placement Centre for the Underpriveleged works in close association with the various District level and State level handicapped associations in TamilNadu, with the objective of maintaining the database of job seekers and providing the same to the job providers as and when required. The entire service is provided free.

Nandini Fund is maintained on the basis of contribution of the promoters as well as well-wishers.

From Nandini Fund, financial support is extended to the extent of availability of fund, to persons in the lower income group, towards the expenses for education, hospitalisation etc. Help is particularly provided to those who cannot afford to wait.
